This is the place to start getting involved
The Democratic Party of McHenry County meets once a month on the third Wednesday of the month (except for December). We announce details and location of the meetings on this page, and we encourage you to attend. If you do plan to attend a meeting, please RSVP on the meeting details page so we know you are coming. That makes it much faster to get you checked in at the door.
If big meetings are just not your thing, we also have smaller local meetings and activities in each of our six County Board districts. There's plenty to do at the local level, and your District Chair would love to meet you and work with you to support our activities. DPMC Veterans' Committee

Veteran's Committee Meeting
If you’re a veteran and a Democrat, we invite you to join the McHenry County Democrats' Veterans Committee, a new committee we have started to activate our local Vets. Their first meeting is on Monday, April 23rd at 7pm at the DPMC Office.
Jesse Rojo will lead the discussion. He's chair of Illinois Veterans for Change, an organization dedicated to supporting Democratic military veterans running for all levels of office. We are getting ready for the November election, and ILV4C is working to create a statewide campaign targeting persuadable voters and showing them that Democrats are the true patriots and supporters of our military and Veterans.
Whether you are a veteran or interested in supporting veterans, join this outreach committee and find out how we can reclaim the word patriotism from extreme MAGA Republicans and protect our democracy.

Bill Foster's Open House & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Congressperson Bill Foster, proudly serving the 11th Congressional District of Illinois, invites you to attend the Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for his new district office. His casework team will be available to answer constituent questions about federal issues.
It's on Saturday April 27th, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at 11187 Old Dundee Road, Huntley. Also known as Dundee Street. The ceremony will be at 2:00 PM.

District 9 Conversations
The primary is over and it's time to get to work. Please join our open discussion with local Democrats including candidates. Let’s talk about ways to get out our Democratic votes. Expect a stimulating conversation!
Food and drinks (very, very good, especially their pizza!) will be available for purchase at the bar. Please patronize Pub 47's offerings as they are generously allowing us the use of their back room without charge.
Districts 8 and 9 Hot Dog Picnic
Please join us for our annual hot dog picnic. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, and ice cream - all provided as well as the fixin's for Chicago dogs. Meet local candidates and mingle with fellow Dems from Districts 8 & 9. Come for the food, the fellowship, the inspiration and the scenic beauty as we watch the sun go down over the Kishwaukee Valley. It was a beautiful and inspiring event in 2023, and for sure this year will be equally great.
It’s all happening on the evening of Wednesday, June 5, 2024 — from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
The location is Shelter #2 at the Marengo Ridge Conservation Area, 2411 IL-23, Marengo, IL 60152. It's on the east side of Route 23, between River Road on the south and Collins Road on the north.
There's construction on Rt 23 going north. So if driving from Huntley or south, there's an alternate route: take Route 176 to Deerpass Rd, the first major road east of Route 23. Go north on Deerpass to River Road, west on River Road back to Route 23, and then north on Route 23 for the final bit to Marengo Ridge. (Map consultation is suggested since the detour signs take you back to Rt 14 / Harvard.)
